Beaches with Mountains by macjake (58782)

I can imagine Tosca was in her element here. And that you were looking for a skyscraper to shoot ;) It certainly is a beautiful, unspoilt and quite unusual beach. it's not every day that you see such huge mountains so close to the beach. It really is pretty. And so untouched. Actually seeing all that snow is giving me the shivers, particularly as when you were shooting this, I was diving into water that was 24 degrees centigrade! My best friend is Norwegian and for years she's been trying to con me into visiting her country. Yours and Tosca's photos may have just tipped the balance.
Cheers, thanks for sharing

Bonsoir cher Daniel
A very suggestive and well-executed nightshot. I love the diagonal lines, the reflections on the cobblestone flooring and of course you use of the vertical frame. Excellent sharpness and a palpable atmosphere oozes from the photo. Well done, a great shot.

A delightful sea port and fishing village. The bright colours and emerald seas are like a natural flag for the country. This place looks so inviting and reminds me so much of southern Italy, particularly Sicily. nd I can imagine how enjoyable it would be sitting at the port, with a cold glass of vino and a plate of grilled Octopus, looking out to sea after a mid-morning swim. How delightful. Ahhhh you're so lucky to have this on your doorstep! Excellent photo, very suggestive, beautifully executed (although it could be my monitor, is it a little under-exposed?). It matters not, it's a delight to see and critique.

It is difficult to decide which I prefer, the nightshot or the dayshot of this exquisite castle. The day shot gives best effect to the cherry blossoms and also the unusual details of the castle. However, I still prefer the Blue Hour photo. Both are superb. And you did very well with the overcast conditions and grey skies.

No wide angle lens could ever encapsulate this remarkable building entirely, could it? It's so vast and so varied. I really could not get over the eclectic mix of architectural styles within one building. I like how you've composed the shot, capturing as best you can the enormity of the building without losing those magnificent details and impressive workmanship. Nice colours and excellent sharpness too.
PS: Just around the corner from here is where I ate the best ricotta cannoli I have ever tasted (which is saying a lot, as I've had hundreds :) )

Ciao cara Ourania
Rythmic gymnastics is such a beautiful - and so unattainable -sport. The women who practise it are like swans, so athletic and yet so graceful. I like this photo a lot. It would have been completely different if you'd chosen colour and the B&W was definitely the right choice. It emphasises the silhouette of the gymnast, the super play of light and shade and the remarkable shadows thrown on the floor by the horizontal blinds. A very artistic, dynamic and unusual photo, with a great note. Thanks for sharing.

Ola dear Ana
I can really see why you chose not to frame this using the Rule of Thirds and instead chose to compose it half-half. The colours and textures in the foreground are just as compelling and important as the rich blue sky and those amazing cloud formations. The vertical frame has worked particularly well here. So I'm glad you broke the rules and have come up with such a beautiful and well-captured photo. Excellent work.

Dag dear Gerrit
I love the sense of movement and fun here. I love to dance (although am very bad at it) so particularly admire people who can dance. Excellent bright colours, sharpness and a palpable sense of enjoyment and the good life here. Thanks for sharing.
Porta abbandonata by carlo62 (36065)

Your insomnia has really paid off here. You've caught an amazing, original and very beautiful photo because of it. I love the blue tones and the amazing effect of the snow/sleet/rain. The slight reflection is very subtle and a lovely touch too. Excellent work, I like this a lot.
