Hello Santo,
The wet weather and overcast sky work out to be the best for your shot of Melbourne, saturated colours without any harsh shadows. The darkened sky is fantastic, avoiding any opportunity for a blown out. Perfect exposure. The timing is great too before that colourful tram runs away. The Eureka Tower is a fine contrast to the Flinders Station in more ways than one. It also justifies the amount of sky dedicated to this framing. Brillian shot, Santo.

Hello Steve,
I wouldnt be surprise to see you camping in Yarra Bend Park this summer to watch on the birds day and night. Beautiful shot especially when that noisy fella turns his head to look back, letting some light into his eyes. I suppose her pose justify all that space on the right of this frame. Perfect bokeh.

Hello Lisa,
Oops! I missed this one earlier. I am very surprised to see a 10sec exposure compared to many of your earlier shots of 60-160sec exposure. But the result is what counts. This is stunningly beautiful shot with double layer of colourful concentric circles. I wonder why the lines are broken up, but its nice. Good that you cropped out the glaring light at the top while keeping the centres of the circles. The Harbour Bridge fills in the darker area of the frame very well.
Have a good weekend

Alfred

Very interesting story, Andrew. I wouldn't mind printing it out for repeated bed time reading:-). There may be still places in the world where you can live on a pack of 555 for a week, but surely hard to find.
Having gone through the tedious process, the photo proved that it is worth the effort. I like the young girl(would be old now), one leg up, posing casually for you and the boy in the BG trying desperately to draw your attention. The setting sun and its mirror reflection against the warm sky provided a wonderful mood to this village setting.
Have a good weekend

Hello sweet Lisa
Is this one of those spots you took us to that evening? There is only one thing that looks familiar to me - the tip of the pavillion up on the hill. But where we were that pavillion was on the other side.
You composed this well focusing on the rugged rocky coastline as the prime subject and that rock in the FG right is well placed with excellent details. The footprints must be yours, adding a good sign of human presence to this shot.
Its Friday again! Enjoy your weekend.
Best regards
Alfred

Ciao dear Lisa,
A fantastic original POV of this iconic bridge showing great details of its underside. I am glad that you ve got the Opera House in as well. I wonder how it will look if you were to borrow Santo's fisheye for this shot, perhaps we will see not only a bit more of the colourful reflection on the water but also your red pants(borrowed from Santo too)and feet.
Just a side point, the lens flare tells me that your lens aperture has 7 segmented blades.
Excellent work, Lisa

Hello Santo,
While the London Bridge had been renamed as you correctly said so, let me be unambiguous to add to your out-of-date note that the Grotto has also been renamed as Girotto since 1 October 2009. I have posted a photo of the signboard in your workshop;-))
The golden colour in the foreground with so much details is very striking and match well with the cliff on the left. I wish the sky is golden too to be realistic, but of course, a contrast with the blue is visually more attractive. Excellent photo job.

Hello Lisa,
You see, I am not wrong to say that you are nocturnal:-). You are out roaming around at night again to bring us this brilliant shot. The starry light, iconic Opera House, orange and blue lights are all great for this magnificent night view of the hanger. Even that wooden pole in the FG water makes an element of interest. Wish I can roam around shooting with you.
One question: Do you know why they bother to install a cluster of light on the underside of that bridge on the right?
Enjoy your week.
Regards
Alfred

Hello Steve,
This humble minaret is beautifully frame by the arched window. I just wonder whether the circumstances allow you to move slightly to the left to include that white dome in the framing as well. The white would be quite contrasting, just a thought.

Alfred
Ps. I am back to Melbourne now, perhaps we should get that Skippy the kangaroo out again if he has the time. But he sounds like pretty busy lately

Hello Nikki
Difficult but you have done a superb job. The change of colour tones separates the FG, midG and BG really well, creating a good sense of depth. Excellent details with f/8.

Alfred
