Ferris Wheel by wilbertchua (27)

Hi Wilbert!
Nice photo, the black and white works very well for showing the details of the ferris wheel's structure. I´m quite a fan of b&w shots, they're so classically beautiful. This photo in colour probably looked quite nondescript, and the colours would have detracted from the appreciation of the wheel's engineering.
However, I'd like to make a couple of comments. Firstly, the spire rising up in the right of the picture detracts the attention fron the general composition and the wheel. It would have looked better if you´d moved a bit to take the picture and so left it out or cropped it. And secondly, though this is more a personal opinion than a comment, I don't really agree with pasting enormous copyright signs over our works, not because I don´t think we have a right to make sure people know who the artist was, but because it also detracts attention from the picture. I think framing the picture in PS, and using the frame margins to write the information, with maybe just your name or signature over the actual photograph, is far more elegant.

This makes for a very interesting architectural photo, the contrast between the turquoise dome and the white ceiling is very nicely captured.
However, the picture is not very well composed, one of the fan's arms is partially obstructing the view of the dome, and a more centered overall composition would be more eye-pleasing.

FORTALEZA by Pancheins72 (34)

A crisp, clear shot, with nicely defined contours, clean colours and interesting lightwork. A very interesting, long and well written note as well.
However, there´s something not quite right about the composition, it doesn´t completely please the eye. The castle gives the impression of being tilted, even though on close inspection it isn´t. This is caused by the fact that the crumbling wall on the left of the castle tower hides the edge of the latter, while the right side has a clearly contrasted edge with the clear sky behind it. This, added to the fact that the castle shot from this angle leaves it entirely in shadow seems to create an optical illusion of unbalance around it. My only reccomendation would be to have waited for another moment of the day when one of the sides was clearly lighted, while the other was in shadow.
Anyhow, it´s still a great shot. Good work!

I really like faraway viewpoints of big citys, they make great subjects for photos. Your predawn shot is very interesting, the small points of artificial lighting make a nice counterpoint to the blue shading.
However, I think your picture would have gained if you´d waited a bit for the fog to lift up enough to show the mountains properly. The camera has also distorted the view at the sides of the frame, which is normal with this sort of shots but can be corrected (Try editing in PS).
Anyways, good work!

Hi Jeffry,
I can´t believe no one rated this incredible shot of yours.
I think it´s an incredible composition, the tiny scale of the landscape makes it that much more impressive, and I love the colour composition ranging through the greens and blues of the land to the oranges and pinks of the sky.
All your photos are wonderful works of art, but this is one of my favourites!

IT MOUNTS OF THE MAIGMO by LADYHALCON (16)

Hi George!
Lovely colours - blues and greens in lake and trees works very well, nicely composed picture as well!
My only suggestion is that there seems to be too much light on the mountains, probably because of the humid air in the atmosphere round the lake - the sky is a shade too bright - apart from that it looks perfect!
(Maybe you could try correcting the lighting a touch in Photoshop)

WOOOWWW!!!
Incredible sky and colours - well-captured! Nicely balanced composition - my only suggestion is that you adjust the tilt a bit - use Adobe Photoshop.
