Hi, Michael -
Classic capture of a south Pacific sunset. The starfish is an excellent touch.

Hi, Jim -
Sunsets are a bit of luck, but shooting them right is skill. You did a very good here, particularly with the low angle emphasizing the fg. Colors and clarity are really great.

Salut, Diane -
Interesting use of minimalism. What makes it work, of course, is the excellent low, strong light. That, and the absence of surface disturbance on the water, which gives it an etherea quality. Well captured!

Bonjour, Jean Yves -
Great human interest shot, nicely balanced between the boy weighted to the right and the shutter on the left. You might try a bit of burn brush on the hands.
Best,
Dan

Hi, Marlene -
I didn't agree with the title - until I spotted the billboard! A fascinating sunrise shot, and I am intrigued with the way the buildings start out distinct and discrete in the fg and quickly fade into a homogeneous mass behind them - an unusual mix. Nice capture of the morning smog/haze while showing us the mountain clearly, as well.
Best,
Dan

Hi, John -
A lovely shot, and worth freezing for! You picked a shutter speed just slow enough to hint at water movement without overdoing it.
Maybe it's my monitor (a discussion we've had before), but I found the colors a little dull. I did a quick WS with Curves to intensify them slightly - a subtle difference, but I like it better. See how it looks on your monitor.
Best,
Dan

Salut, Diane -
I think the balance of elements is a little off; less pond and more of the background feels better to my eye. But I love the soft pastels in the rear; they remind me of Breughel's use of color. Very nice lighting!
Amicalement,
Dan

Salut, Pierre -
Very good for no tripod! From the amount of light in the sky I would have thought this was a timed exposure, in fact.
Nice balance of elements, especially in the use of buildings along the edges to create a frame.

Dan

Hi, Way -
A very nice shot of dawn, and the mountain is mostly visible. Good catch of the reflections, too. The fg is good, but I wonder if a bit of burn, maybe at 5%, might bring it out a little more. It's so close to being there that I keep straining to get it.
Best,
Dan

Hi, Way -
What fascinates me here is the play of light, the strong suggestion of early evening. You managed to get the light and shadows balanced well.
Best,
Dan
