Nice light and framing. The focus is probably a bit too much on the statue in the foreground than on the kid though... That's a good one anyways ;)

Wonderful picture with a great depth of field, making the shadows of the dunes even more dramatic. Having someone in the composition also helps :)

Dalkey is a lovely place, for sure. Isn't it taken from an old outdoor pool, next to the DART line? If so, I went there pretty often when I lived in Dublin, just on the benches on top of the hill, to enjoy the beautiful view towards Bray, and sometimes see the odd dolphin swim by. You took a very nice picture there, with a very beautiful point of view. Well done :)

Your note displays exactly my opinion about how the Chinese treat their historic buildings. I was shocked to see the way the Forbidden City was treated when I was there earlier this year, with workers just hacking some poles and repainting them after having put some kind of mastic, or whatever you can call a product that fills the holes. Now, the whole Forbidden City has shiny walls, which is not what I expected. Fortunately, I avoided seeing the Great Wall in Badaling, and instead saw a wild section of it, which was way more authentic, and also just not packed with tourists.

The shot itself is nice enough. The way it was restored/rebuilt shows what the Wall may have looked like when it was first built.

I should go back to China next spring, and will most likely spend all my time (unfortunately only two weeks) in Gansu to see Dunhuang and the area, and then go to Xiahe and Langmusi. I can't wait :)
