Hi Karen
Let me begin by saying the colours and details are excellent
I know that this memorial means a great deal to you, so I am truly hesitant to be completely honest. Yet I do feel that this image would work better if it were composed a little differently. Feather proposes the rule of thirds and I agree with her. TSTI003 cropping is good, but I would actually hold back a little so that you still have the lead-in line of the walkway and have a good amount of sky (an afterlife symbol).
A fine idea and a good posting.
Full marks for colours, details and originality

This is a good clean posting with fine colours and details, but it lacks "oompf." It works as a nice encyclopedia shot, and failing more information on the barn, leaves us just a little flat, I think.
Superb colours, excellent details, good lead-in lines, in fact all the technical details are met but it lacks "heart."
I give it full marks because of the technical merits, though :D

A fascinating image -- it encourages the imagination to fill the empty spaces -- not an easy task in so vast a void!
Superb colours and very well-handled light conditions

Rather dark and off-kilter and I can see nothing here that teaches us about the world
Photography is an art and is very much a matter of personal taste. If I were to give this a poor rating because it does not coincide with my personal taste, that simply would not be fair, would it?
So I choose to use the NR instead and give you only my honest critique:
The PoV is original but disconcerting. I find the figures far too dark and even the subject (the leg) is rather dark -- so it ends up looking like a mistake.
And finally: since this site is intended to teach us about the world -- I find nothing here that meets that mission.
