Hi,
Nice shot, considering your camera!

Since you can not adjust exposure (or can you?) on your shots, try to improve your composition. That is the one thing that has nothing to do with how much money have you wasted on photo equipment. Try to respect ”rule of the thirds” on shots like this one, with one subject and background that doesn’t catch the eye much.

And, just one more very important thing: problem with low quality camera, or on not-so-good shots you can fix by post-processing. Use software like Photoshop or even new ACDSee (with edit mode, cause that’s what you need). I’ll post you a workshop of this shot, just to see how much potential is there in post-processing.

And spend some time reading (and writing) critiques on this page, it helps a lot!

Well spotted scene, composition is excellent!
Shot really has that spirit of a sea-side!

I think that it is a bit underexposed.
