Unfortunately I think that the manager who said that we should not relate a swastika with Hitler is asking too much. Perhaps the symbol was something good or neutral before, but now, after such a terrible thing, I think it has been ruined forever. Even if it did carry meaning for early Christians, I don't think that it is necessary to hold on to this version of the cross. Though I do think the cross, in general, will last as a good symbol no matter what evil men try to use it. Very interesting note, thank you for posting.

Well done, I personally like your original composition better than either of the workshops; while I like a square format when the picture calls for it or can be made more interesting by it, I don't like using a square format when important elements must be sacrificed. I don't like how much of the head was cut off in the second WS and I don't like how we miss the detail of the elaborate earing and stretched out ear lobe in the other WS.

I first noticed this foto for its lack of color but then realized I liked how the lines divide the frame nicely. I still think it is somewhat bland; I tried to liven it up a bit in a workshop.

Very interesting foto with great contrast between the white and red. Simple yet interesting because of the subject matter. Only one problem, you can't show boobies on TE...Just kidding

I see a girl that is obviously not afraid of the soldier, I point this out because it is interesting how people from from different parts of the world see something different in it. Maybe it is interesting that the gun is pointed in the direction of the girl but what does the picture really say? The focus is a bit off and it might have been good to burn the soldier's face for some more detail but I leave that to you. Thanks for posting some interesting photos from Iraq.

I like think foto a lot, good job capturing an interesting moment. I think if it was possible I would have liked to see the writing in front of him, like he was looking at it but I still see the contrast with it being behind him. I think if you had just told us that the word meant Allah we would have picked up the contrast without your explanation in the note. You should avoid telling so much about the agenda of the photo and let such a good journalistic shot speak for itself.

I like the presence of bright red in this photo, good saturation. I like the diagonal of the swing working with other vertical and diagonal lines. The one thing I don't like is that the DOF doesn't include the other two children. It seems that they should also be in focus since they are actually posing for the picture. Thanks for posting, nice photo.

You have captured quite a decisive moment here. A child caught up into the troubles of the world which seem to big for him just as the shirt seems to be. I didn't care for some of the other photos in your series, they didn't seem to be special like this one. Thanks for posting and don't worry about those who are offended by the content, its fine.

Good Eye for an inspirational moment. It reminds me of the day that Christ died on the cross, on a hill much like the one in your photo. He too looked up to the heavens and asked a question, "Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachthani?"—which means, "My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?" Matthew 27:46...I believe He said this as the sins of the world came upon Him. Thank you for posting.
