I also like this picture. The light shines bright on the upper and lower stem and certain leaves, but shadows are cast elsewhere. I like when I can tell which direction the sun is coming from... Good job.

The 2/3 rule has to do with photo composition. The idea is (basically) that you place the picture’s object of focus at the center, and then move it so it sits at the 2/3 point. Apparently, this practice is supposed to be helpful for creating a nice context for pictures (focus and background). Moreover, many photo lessons talk about thinking in thirds (vertically and horizontally) when taking pictures. However, this is not a hard fast rule and I often don't use it (i.e. I don't think art and what is pleasing to the eye plays by these rules).

Beautiful Mikolaj. Looks like a great place to sit, read a book, and ponder life. Great job.

First, my heritage is in large part Alsatian and Lorrainian, so I am biased. However, I find this photo to be phenomenal!
It is centered beautifully, and the perspective you chose is POWERFUL to say the least. The photo gives the impression-to me anyway-that the surrounding buildings are being pulled into the Cathedral.
The people at the base of the Cathedral are also a sort of serendipitous advantage to the picture. They give the viewer an idea of the scale of the (exquisite) entrance doors.
You also managed to get the photo without any apparent construction on the Cathedral, which was nice to see.
The colour contrast between the dark blue evening sky and the golden Cathedral was well chosen.
Finally, by not softening the picture, whether this was your intent or not, you managed to give the Cathedral an almost skeletal presence.
You have done an all around great job.

This is a beautiful picture. The colour is rich, and your perspective has given interesting symmetry. Well done.
