Great shot. The off-center position of the road allows a smooth flow of lines that all point to the same spot in the image and keeps my attention focused on the flow. Cutting off the right side of the tree keeps the image from being too busy. Great use of light and shadows.

Nice image. The diagonal tree line works well. Great job on capturing the soft light in the foreground and the bright snow on the mountain. I'd suggest cropping about 2 inches from the bottom to get rid of the fence. Cropping may overcenter the mountain, but I think it will be ok.

Great way to bring a quite emotion into the image. The bright light at the center catches my attention and keeps my eye from wandering around. The sharp lines of the rocks are nicely offset by the soft sea. The white rocks at the bottom are a little distracting so I might suggest cropping about 1 inch from the bottom.

Great perspective! Allowing the lights to taper off to nothing combined with the diagonal line of lights coming up from the water give an excellent depth to the image and provide a smooth left to right transition for my eye to follow. I suggest cropping about an inch from the bottom to remove the out of focus railing. You might even crop about 2 in. from the bottom and 1 in. from the top - to give a panoramic feel.

Very good composition. I like the framing of the secondary subject (the ocean), and the two people give good scaling to the image. The sky & clouds are perfect as they compliment the white in the railing and ocean. You might crop about an inch off the right to get rid of the bricks.

Sara, good shot. I like the empty space to the left of the ship; it gives the feeling that the ship is about to head out on a journey. I agree with mortijo, the sky could be cropped to better frame the ship. Just a thought, rather than shoot at 1/1000 sec and f/4.5, you might try a much slower shutter speed, 1/2 or more and a very small aperture (maybe f/22) and probably a slow ISO (perhaps 100), this may blur the water enough to create the illusion of smooth water. (This works well for sunrise/sunset shots when the water isn't nice and clam.)

It's too bad we can't include audio with an image - the Mig sure would have made an impression. The 1st time I heard one, I thought it'd be the last thing I heard. Given the conditions, you did a good job. If you have access to Photoshop, you might try to sharpen the image to bring out the A/C lines and hide some of the distortion common to digital cameras (leading edge of vert. stab.) and increase the color saturation to bring out the blues and greens.

Aki, I like the crispness of the image and the way the light settles on the path. You did a good job. One suggestion, you might try a vertical shot and incorporate more of the path near your feet to give a feeling of depth. A vertical shot would also bring out the size of the enormous tree on the right side of the trail.

Great shot, even from a Longhorn. I noticed some problems in your cloning that I've also run into. In the btm left and btm right portions of the image, you can see clone streaks which are an obvious sign of alteration and detract from the picture. One way around this is to carefully clone over each fence post (individually using vertical swipes) then use a combination of the patch tool and healing to clean up the mess. This will help hide the fence posts.
