I like the delightful contrast between the dark cold blue of the snowy foreground and that warm, buttery light on the houses. To have my cake and eat it I would like to see the boat mast at exctly one third composition. But that is just me being greedy.

this looks quite balmy in contrast to the deep winter weather we are having right now (at least in the UK). I see that this was taken December last year and thought it would be interesting to see the place today.
I like the inky blue and the lines of rope that work as a lead in.

there is so little colour in this image that it could be mistaken for a partial desatuaration in pp. But I can sse that it is not.Such a cold winter light, lifted only by the bright splash of colour courtesy fo Asda. (You should offer Asda this imag e for a advertising campaign which would concentrate on their dterminaion to get their deliveries to customers no matter how difficult the circumstances).

another intelligent and heartfelt image from you. Poverty and homeless is an abomination.In such a rich country as ours, it should not need to happen, but it does. The nuclear family is desribed as a fragile raft but how much more fragile are those that have no family to care for them, who stand alone in this world?
For all the reasons described by Kev Ryan, this is a powerful image.

Wild, wonderful and beautiful...and even a wee bit scary! A real wintery light and excellent pov.How did you get so high in these conditions? This stuff has stopped us travelling up from Dumfries and galloway to Aberdeenshire to visit my son & grandsons. - A9 closed ;(

Hello Gunnar,
a nice light gives us an attractive blue composition. The finger og land with the white house and the jetty intersect the blue with the white house land deliniating sea from sky.The splas of red on the lifebelt is both perfectly placed and a perfect counterpoint.
