Maybe I am giving away the secret: my guess is that this is a picture of an exhibit at the National Aquarium in Baltimore, Maryland. (www.aqua.org) They have some very lifelike aquarium displays. The dock and the grass are part of the display, the "sky" is a painted background. There is no aquarium glass visible in this view. If the shot had a wider view from top to bottom, or if the camera was pointed down a bit, we would see the glass and behind the glass would be water and fish. However, the glass does not go all the way to the ceiling, and above the water is the naturalistic display of the grass, dock, and sky. I think this photo is a trompe l'oeil, well done, but it's a photo taken indoors in a public aquarium in downtown Baltimore, not in some remote corner of rural Virginia. Besides, is there a place called "Baltimo" in Virginia?
