What a gorgeous black and white and what a treasure you found on the good old Alberta prairies. They are definitely become fewer and farther between to find. Gorgeous conversion once again.

Can't tell it is soft from this size and regardless, it is a beautiful image and a great moment captured. Lovely work throughout your travels :)

Oh what a gorgeous image, such a true representation of a sunrise in northern Thailand with the touch of mist and the silhouettes. I wish the foreground was a bit brigther however a very nice image regardless.

It is a shame indeed that no one cares for him - though I must say the apparent grin on his face is rather humourous, and he looks relatively comfortable in the shade!

Beautiful work and detail. Wonderful BW conversion - I can imagine I would much prefer it as a BW as opposed to colour. Chiang Saen is truly an amazing place.

I will take the lift indeed! That is a very crazy piece of artwork. One could jsut stare at it for an hour and try to figure it all out. Love the colours and the inclusion of the bird.

The composition here is fantastic - whether it was set up or not, it tells a story. The black and white tones are wonderful and the DOF just draws a viewer right in. Perhaps my only critique would be if there was a tiny bit more action, or something that would suggest he was the barber - but one can't ask too much of a spontaneous portrait - especially when it comes together as well as this.

There is something awfully humourous about seeing a young adult doing what would be considered illegal in many countries with the contrast of the police nonchalantly chatting in the background. I agree with Peter on the note that at a smaller DOF would have greatly benefitted this image - but just starting to get on the learning curve of a new camera is surely a tricky business.
