The composition here is fantastic - whether it was set up or not, it tells a story. The black and white tones are wonderful and the DOF just draws a viewer right in. Perhaps my only critique would be if there was a tiny bit more action, or something that would suggest he was the barber - but one can't ask too much of a spontaneous portrait - especially when it comes together as well as this.

There is something awfully humourous about seeing a young adult doing what would be considered illegal in many countries with the contrast of the police nonchalantly chatting in the background. I agree with Peter on the note that at a smaller DOF would have greatly benefitted this image - but just starting to get on the learning curve of a new camera is surely a tricky business.
