Hello again Rosemary,
The contrast between the brightly coloured houses and the rocks are so striking! Its good that you mentioned the Geology of why the strata are near vertical here...we see the same in the Himalayas in India as the Asian plate continues to push the Eurasian plate northwards...
Your POV from below allows us to move up the slope and the polarised blue sky is quite fantastic as well...

Before I started to comment, I read with interest John's comment on this picture and also one by Craig..
Indeed comparing the two pictures is an example of how two artists can see the same place differently....the beauty and art of photography and photographic eye.
While vertical framing is quite a surprise, maybe because of the arc of the houses below hugging the frame, what it certainly adds is the FG...the flowers are beautiful and add a totally different dimension to this picture.
It does appear that you took this shot with the sun quite high in the horizon as I observe from the shadows below.....the exif says 9:30 morning though!
Wonderful shot Rosemary and thanks for sharing

Hola my friend Josep
Good to see your post again :-)
Lack of motivation? We all suffer from time to time.....that's why I post in different sites now...seeing good photographs makes me happy!
This is a fine picture from your gallery with the bridge the crowning glory of attention...the design is similar to some bridges I have seen in pictures from Eastern Europe...Mostar being the most famous!

Eid Mubarak my friend!
This is a picture so unlike yours....
Rich in details, the style of the spire is also a bit unique. The gold and red combination is superb and contrasts well with the blue sky. Good idea to present this as a closeup!
