simple and effective !
The shapes and the textures are really graphical.
I like the deformation on the shadows, the second one is well seen because it's not a human shadow... it creates an artificial border.

I think monuments and historic architecture are well served with black & white and your photo is another proof. I like to see all these ornaments details that stand out nicely in the image. The moving people adds a feeling of dynamism and crowded space. Your cropping keep the attention on the underground activity.
